Marketmen said, paucity of stocks due to negligible arrivals from manufacturing belts amid speculative buying by stockists and retailers, especially pushed up gur chakku prices in Delhi and Muzaffarnagar.
In Delhi, gur Chakku prices rose by Rs 100 to end the day at Rs 3,400-3,500 per quintal.
At Muzaffarnagar, gur Chakku prices spurted by Rs 100 to close the day at Rs 3,100-3,200 per quintal.
Elsewhere, other gur varieties ruled quiet in Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar.
Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal): Gur chakku Rs 3,400-3,500, pedi Rs 3,500-3,600, dhayya Rs 3,600-3,700 and shakkar Rs 3,800-3,900.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,600-2,650, chakku Rs 3,100-3,200, khurpa NA and Ladoo NA.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 3,150-3,250 and dhayya NA.
