The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by chief secretary Anshu Prakash to review preparedness in the wake of the warning. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an alert on Monday forecasting that several parts of north India including Delhi could witness thunderstorm and squall tomorrow with winds gusting up to 50-70 kilometers per hour.

Ironically, there is no proof that certifies the data on pollution that was being provided by the existing systems so far, which was being used by CPCB. The price of CNG being supplied in Rewari is being increased by 95 paise per kg from Rs 50.67 per kg to Rs 51.62 per kg. Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) will continue to offer a discount of Rs 1.50 per kg in the selling prices of CNG (compressed natural gas) for filling between 12.30 am to 5.30 am at select outlets, the company said in a statement.

In 2015, the government had decided to switch to the Euro-VI emission norm compliant, ABS-VI petrol and diesel from April 1, 2020, from the Euro-IV grade currently in use. The deadline for Delhi had been preponed to April 1, 2018, in view of the highest levels of air pollution in the capital. The Supreme Court ordered a deadline for introducing BS-VI transport fuels in the entire National Capital Region (NCR), including adjoining Ghaziabad, Noida, Gurgaon and Faridabad FOR April 1, 2019, IOC Director (Refineries) B.V. According to an official communique, the government has asked all heads of departments (HoDs) to start e-payments of services in offices under their control stating that service providers such as BSES, Tata Power, Delhi Jal Board and MTNL have agreed to accept bill payments through electronic mode. Delhi Power Minister Satyendar Jain said the total electricity bills of every domestic consumer in Delhi across different categories have come down. "Everyone`s bills have come down. For some people by Rs 100, for some Rs 50....," he said, adding that the fixed rate had to be raised as the Central government increased the fixed rates of electricity produced by power plants from which the Delhi government purchases power, by 50 paise per unit.
