Smartphone market in India has witnessed a double-digit growth at the end of second quarter, expressing that consumers have picked up new devices in big numbers. The smartphone market registered 18 percent y-o-y growth after a flat growth in the first quarter, said a BGR report, citing Counterpoint Research. South Korean firm Samsung also regained leadership from Xiaomi, but the latter saw triple-digit growth in its shipments. The research has also stated that increased shipments mainly belonged to the sub-Rs 10,000 price segment.
