Tata Comm partners Chunghwa telecom to provide IoT experience

Godrej Properties adds new residential project in Gurgaon

Godrej Properties Ltd. (GPL), one of India’s leading real estate developers has said that it has expanded its residential portfolio in NCR, with an addition of a new residential project in Gurgaon. This project will offer approximately 70,500 square meters (approximately 7.5 lakh sq. ft.) of saleable area and will be developed as a modern group housing development. This project is situated in an established location within Gurgaon City and has excellent connectivity to the various key micro-markets in Gurgaon. Glenmark Pharma enters into agreement with Sam Chun Dang

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, a global pharmaceutical company has said that it has entered into an exclusive agreement with Sam Chun Dang Pharm. Co. Ltd. (SCD), to develop, manufacture and market a portfolio of ophthalmic products in the U.S. and Canada. Under this agreement, these products will be developed and manufactured by SCD in South Korea. Glenmark will seek all market authorizations and commercialize the products in North America. It is expected that Glenmark will file six Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDAs) beginning in the first half of 2019 for the licensed SCD ophthalmic products. According to IMS sales figures, the U.S. brand sales for the six products was approximately $1.7 billion for calendar year 2017. Meanwhile, shares of the company were trading at Rs 524 apiece, down 0.13 per cent from the previous close at 09:27 hours on BSE.

Allahabad Bank has Rs 517-cr exposure to Rotomac

State-owned Allahabad Bank today said it has an exposure of Rs 516.79 crore to crisis-hit Rotomac group and the lender has made required provisioning for the same as per RBI norms, reported PTI. Responding to a clarification sought by exchanges on news article Rotomac owner flees India after taking Rs 800 crore loans', the Allahabad Bank said the group is having an exposure from our bank since 2006. There is an outstanding of Rs 43.09 crore to Rotomac Exim Pvt Ltd as a sole banker, Rs 314.56 crore to Rotomac Global as multiple banking lending and Rs 159.14 crore to Rotomac Exports as a consortium arrangement with Bank of India as a lead banker. These three loans amount to Rs 516.79 crore. The aforesaid accounts of Rotomac group classified as non-performing assets as per IRAC norms of RBI and the required provision has been made, it said in a regulatory filing. The bank said the accounts of Rotomac Global and Rotomac Exports have been filed in National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) and was admitted on September 20, 2017. The recovery process under SARFAESI is in process by the bank for the third Rotomac group company, namely, Rotomac Exim Pvt Ltd, it said. A number of banks have made announcements to the stock exchanges clarifying on the news since their names have appeared in the news item earlier this week. Bank of Baroda has an exposure to the tune of 456.60 crore to Rotomac group companies that it declared as bad loans in October 2015 and has already started recovery process by registering the case under Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process at NCLT. Besides, Bank of India, Union Bank of India and Indian Overseas Bank also have their respective exposures to the Rotomac group and they have resorted to the available mechanisms to recover their dues. After the enactment of Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code in 2016, the banks have started going to corporate insolvency resolution process to recover their dues from borrowers. Complaints have already being lodged with the CBI, ED and Directorate of Revenue Intelligence against the Rotomac group. After the CBI and ED, the Income Tax Department has stepped up action against Kanpur-based Rotomac group and its promoter, attaching 11 bank accounts in connection with an alleged tax evasion probe against them.. The accounts of the group in various bank branches in Uttar Pradesh have already been attached by the agencies.

Kothari Indl. posts Q3 net loss of Rs 0.78 cr

The company reported standalone net loss during the quarter stood at Rs 0.78 crore as compared to net loss of Rs 0.27 crore in the previous year quarter. Net revenue of the company declined substantially by 29.70 per cent at Rs 7.55 crore in October-December quarter of this fiscal as against Rs 10.74 crore in the corresponding period last year. During October-December quarter, operating expenses dropped by 23.56 per cent to Rs 7.98 crore from Rs 10.44 crore in year ago period. Other Income grew by 47.83 per cent at Rs 0.68 crore versus (Dec'16 Rs 0.46 crore). Operating Profit slipped by 243.33 per cent to Rs -0.43 crore as against Rs 0.30 crore in the year ago period, while Operating Profit Margin (OPM) contracted year-on-year to 302.87 per cent in December quarter.

Gail to set up coaching centres for aspiring techies from poor

Gail (India) Ltd will set up two coaching centres in Uttarakhand to prepare meritorious students from poor families for the country's top engineering colleges including the IITs, reported PTI. To be named Gail Utkarsha Super 100, the coaching centres will be established in Almora and Shrinagar which will prepare 50 students each annually for the IITs and other top engineering colleges. Speaking at a ceremony where the MoU for setting up the centres was signed between Gail and the Centre for Social Responsibility and Leadership, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said with this initiative promising students from poor backgrounds could also dream big. They can also now dream of getting into the IITs and other top engineering colleges, he said. Gail (India) Ltd's decision to spend Rs 2.50 crore per annum on Utkarsha Super 100 and to give scholarships of Rs 5,000 per month to every student who makes it to the top engineering colleges is a commendable step, he said. Minister of State for Higher Education Dhan Singh Rawat said the opening of these coaching centres will also help talent hidden in the hills to come forward. Claiming that Gail (India) Ltd has pioneered several such initiatives under its corporate social responsibility, its CMD B C Tripathi said the two coaching centres, to come up in Kumaon and Garhwal regions of Uttarakhand, are part of the company's flagship Utkarsha project.

About Management

1984 - The Company was incorporated on 16th of August. - The Gas Authority of India Ltd. (GAIL), one of India's leading Public Sector Enterprises, is the largest gas transmission and marketing company in the Country. The Company, possessing a well developed and efficient infrastructure, was established as a wholly owned Company of the Government of India in August, 1984 with 100% equity held by the Goverment of India and, within a short time, it has grown into one of the 'Navratna'enterprises and is ranked among the top ten companies in India. The various activities of the Company range from Gas marketing and distribution through trunk and regional systems, to retailing of Natural Gas to Gas processing for production and marketing of LPG, liquid hydrocarbons and Petrochemicals.The equity pattern in the Company has also changed and the Government today holds about 67% of the equity in the Company. 1995 - GAIL was adjudged the third-best PSU and awarded the prestigious 'Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Shield' for the year 1994-95 in the category of PSUs in Region 'A'. This award was presented by the President of India on September 14. 1996 - The pipeline to Mathura Refinery along with 165 kms of 36" line was commissioned on December 27, to enable supply of gas to Mathura Refinery well ahead of schedule. - For excellent performance in promoting the spread of Hindi as Official Language, GAIL was adjudged the best PSU in Region 'A' and awarded the INDIRA GANDHI RAJBHASHA SHIELD for the year 1995-96. - Two propane recovery plants at Vijaipur were commissioned to optimally utilise various components of natural gas. - Pipeline to NTPC Zanore (Phase II) and RSEB Ramgarh (Phase II) have been commissioned for gas supply to NTPC and RSEB. In addition, a number of small pipelines were also commissioned. - GAIL signed a 'Principles of Agreement' with Brown & Root Inc, USA, on March 8, for developing the project of gas import from Myanmar and other countries in the region to the east of India, for bringing gas for markets in eastern and southern regions. - The Company entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. 1997 - The Company launched the Pilot Project for the supply of piped gas to Domestic and Commercial consumers in the city of Delhi. - The Company has entered into an MOU with the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. 1998 - The Company has commissioned a study to prepare a precise and crystallised vision statement, integrated with strategic business plan, growth models and annual plan perceiving the changing environment. - The Company was received well by international investors; however, due to the unexpected crash of international stock markets, international offer of the equity was deferred by the Government of India. - The Company signed an agreement with M/s National Security Depository Ltd to facilitate shareholders to trade in the shares of the Company in the dematerialised form. - During the year the gas processing unit (GPU), offsite and utilities of the Petrochemical plant at Pata were commissioned. - The Company has entered into Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas for the last seven years. - The Company has set up its own Research and Technology Development (R&TD) Group to undertake research and technology development activities for optimal and effective utilisation of natural gas in the country. 1999 - During the year four major projects were commissioned. These are : - UP Petrochemical Complex at Pata - Gas Rehabilitation and Expansion Project (GREP) - LPG plant at Usar - LPG plant at Lakwa - The UP Petrochemical Complex at Pata was commissioned in March. - In the LPG area, the company has successfully commissioned its plants at Usar (Maharashtra) and Lakwa (Assam) with designed capacity of 139,000 tonnes and 85,000 tonnes respectively. - In Delhi, the Company has formed a Joint Venture Company with BPCL named Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL). - The Company bagged first prize under Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Shield Scheme for the years 1996-97 and 1997-98 for excellence in the area of implementation of the Official Language Policy. - In the area of Gas Technology, the company has signed a Joint Collaboration Agreement with AMOCO along with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and Indian Institute of Petroleum (IIP) for DME India project. 2000 - The Four production unit of the Company viz., the unit at Vijaipur, Vaghodia, Usar and its petrochemical plant in Uttar Pradesh have won the top safety award from the British Safety Council for the 1999. - Gas Authority of India Ltd (GAIL) has signed an agreement with the Karnataka State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation to study the techno-economic feasibility of setting up a gas pipelin to serve various end-users in Karnataka and Kerala. - The Company will lay a high-capacity fibre-optic cable network alongside the Jamnagar-Loni liquid petroleum gas pipeline. - The Company has proposed to develop a gas network in Rajasthan for facilitating the supply of fuel for industrial and economic development in the state. - Chennai's Tamil Nadu Electricity Board has signed an agreement with Gas Authority of India, for supplying 4.5 lakh standard cubic metre of natural gas per day for the power project at Kuttalam in Nagapattinam district. - The Company has to set up the world's largest network of gas pipelines, covering the whole of Rajasthan. - The Gas Authority of India Ltd and the Tripura Natural Gas Company Ltd. signed an agreement for the supply of increased quantity of natural gas to the domestic sector in Agartala. - Gas Authority of India, the nodal gas pipeline company in the country, is diversifying into the telecom sector and has tied up with Bharti Telesonics, BPL Broadband, Shyam Telecom and Escotel Mobiles for leasing bandwidth capacity. - The company is in talks with the National Iranian Gas Company for a possible joint venture for importing and marketing of 5 million tonnes of LNG from Iran. - The Company has entered into a joint co-operation agreement with Total Gas and Power India and Tata Electric Company for the import of LNG at Trombay. - GAIL signed a $36 million deal with Gazprom of Russia for development and exploration in the north-east coast shallow water offshore in West Bengal. - GAIL and Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastrucure Corporation signed an MoU for supplying natural gas to the domestic and commercial consumers through pipeline under the town gas supply scheme. - Gas Authority of India Ltd. has signed an agreement with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. for transportation of LPG along the Jamnagar-Loni pipeline. - Chairman and Managing Director of the company Mr. C.R. Prasad, has been conferred "Distinguished services" award by the National Association of Corrosion Engineers International India Section. - Gas Authority of India Ltd. and Power Grid Corporation of India (PowerGrid) have signed a memorandum of understanding for leasing out bandwidth capacity of their combined telecom network to various telecom operators. - GAIL owns and operates over 4000 km of pipeline and has about 95% market share in the Natural Gas business in India. Also, more than half of the total Urea production in India is Gas-based out of which GAIL contributes more than 90%, thus making a significant contribution to India's agriculture sector also. - The Company plans to enter the Telecom Sector as "Carriers-Carrier" through leasing of bandwidth. The Company would be leasing the bandwidth to telecom companies using its optic fibre system available on the HBJ pipeline, the Jamnagar-Loni LPG Pipeline and by adding new optic fibre systems in various sectors.
