The Indian Railways in recent times is trying to make train journey more comfortable and satisfactory. In this regard, the national transporter has taken various steps. Railways travellers would see these changes soon. Next time when you travel on train, it may look different. Here are the details:

1. Railways will paint 30,000 train coaches in beige and brown colours for more pleasing travel experience. Delhi-Pathankot Express will be the first train to adorn with new colour. Premium trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto, however, will not get new colour.

2. The Indian Railways reportedly mulling upgrade of bio-toilets to airplane-like toilets in train coaches.

3. Railways has fitted each berth with mobile chargers plug-in facility, and also made seats more comfortable.

4. IRCTC, subsidiary of Indian Railways, has come up with a new app where you can check the maximum retail price (MRP) of food items. Now, passengers can order food from outside through IRCTC app. This was done to give passengers more food choices.

5.  The IRCTC recently migrated to new next-generation e-ticketing website. The new version of the website boasts of many new features including a new software that tells passengers their chances of wait-listed tickets getting confirmed.
